Machinist 1st Class
Denton Engineering & Hydraulics is a General Engineering jobbing workshop based in Thornton NSW.We are a busy family owned and operated business, specialising in precision machining, thermal arc spraying, and hydraulic cylinder repairs and remanfacture.We are looking for an experienced Manual Machinist for full-time hours. This role will see you utilising your knowledge to repair and manufacture new parts and components across our range of lathes, millers, and borers.Ideally, you will be a highly motivated and competent person, with recent manual machining experience.You will be expected to work with minimal supervision and be required to complete the appropriate tasks and associated paper work. You will also be expected to adhere to all quality, safety and environmental requirements, ensuring that a high quality of workmanship and safety is maintained in line with our Quality, Safety and Environmental policies.
The Position
- Working in accordance with Denton’s policies and procedures
Recent post trade manual machining experience including but not limited to Lathes, Milling Machines, Horizontal and vertical borers (hydraulic machining experience an advantage) - Interpretation of job specifications, schematics, technical drawings
- Ability to accurately measure and inspect parts and components
- Ability to consistently work to fine tolerances
- Strong attention to detail
- Accurately record all information required on job card for repair or rebuild tasks
- Any other associated tasks to meet the business needs within your capability
What we are looking for:
- A “CAN DO” attitude
- Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade
- At least 2 years recent post trade manual machining experience
- Able to work with minimal supervison and in a team environment
- Reliable transport and C class licence
- Solid understanding of hydraulic cylinder clearances and tolerances
- Willingness to complete a Pre-Employment Medical
- Must reside in Australia
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in engineering workshops would be advantageous but not essential.
- Sandblasting and Spray Painting experience
